Our own summer concert at Bournville Friends Meeting House

Apart from our Spanish themed Summer concert, the highlight of this year was the TV filming in our music director’s garden. Dee Hart Dyke (mother of Miranda Hart) turned up at the garden accompanied by the camera crew and spent the day filming (assisted by a little prosecco). We arrived at 4 ready to perform a short programme for the entertainment of Nigel’s guests. Then the rain started… and didn’t stop. We stood under an awning and played the same pieces over and over, getting colder and colder … and wetter and wetter, with the ink running off our music whilst the crew filmed from different angles. But we had our ten seconds of fame when it was broadcast in October and it was well worth the discomfort. The life of a musician was never meant to be easy!
